How to add an add-on (also known as a Module) to your web page in 4 easy steps:
- Select the add-on you want to create
Select the add-on you require from the list under 'Select a Module' in your Module Store. You can
preview any add-on before you try it.
- Edit and configure it, then 'Save and Publish'
You can configure the appearance of each add-on using its own editor. You can preview any changes to
the add-on online and then select 'Save and Publish' once you're satisfied.
You're then given a very short snippet of HTML.
- Paste the HTML snippet into your web page
Copy and paste the HTML snippet into your web page, using your normal authoring tool (click here for help).
- Preview or publish your page to see your working add-on
To see the add-on working, preview the web page while connected online and publish the web
page to your server.
It's that simple. Nothing else is required. You now have an advanced web add-on on your web page. You can now use
the unique and cool Instant Edit and Remote Update features if you
require:
You can quickly and easily update the module directly from
your website without having to return to your HTML or page builder. On your web
page, move the pointer just under the add-on and you should see a pop-up box
saying 'Xara Module, Ctrl-Click to edit'. Hold down the Ctrl key and left-click
the mouse. After entering your member name and password, you will be taken to
the add-on editor to make your changes.
As an alternative to using the Instant Edit feature
you can sign-in to your Module Store from
www.xaraonline.com and select the
add-on to edit by clicking on it. Once you've edited the add-on, clicking 'Save
and Publish' is all that's needed to update the add-on on your website. You do
not have to re-insert the HTML snippet or edit your web page at all. Just click
refresh or reload on your browser to see the updated add-on live.
| Using your Module Store tools |

You can upload photos, JPGs or GIFs for use by the add-on. Simply select the Upload option in the Module Store. You may
like to organise these in a folder, which you can create using the New Folder
option. Click to open a folder and then anything you create or upload will go
inside that folder. You can select add-ons, or uploaded photos, JPGs or GIFs, by
checking the box and performing the common operations such as Delete, Rename
etc. If you want to see the HTML snippet for any module select the Show Info
option. Note if you Delete or Rename a module that is already being used on a
web page, it will stop working!
? - Click on the Question Mark for help on that specific function
X-Guy - Click on the Xara Online character at the bottom
of the page for help on that add-on.
